Trucking Incident Memo
May 4, 2008 mahernan
Just as the Committee Progress Email Report taught me how to successfully write an internal progress report, this assignment, Trucking Incident Memo, also gave me the opportunity to write an internal progress report based on an exercise from the textbook.
Again, I was to follow all of the guidelines and make sure that I included all of the information that the exercise description contained. The format of this report was done as a memo.
The memo was created around a hypothetical situation. I was the Traffic Manager preparing a memo for the President of the company I worked for, Spangler Trucking, Inc. In this memo, I explained trucking operating accidents of the week of January 20, 2008.
The first item in the memo was a list of all of the people present in the company’s mandatory Accident Review meeting. Next, I wrote in detail about an extensive review regarding a total of four highway accidents that were the result of faulty tires that our delivery company trucks were operating on. I included an accident summary, and a section of the accident details.
In the conclusion of the memo I explained how our insurance company, Acme Underwriters, filed a lawsuit against the tire manufacturer, Speed’s Tire Manufacturer. I explained how this would prevent a reoccurrence of such an accident again.
