Lubbock Rape Crisis Center Recommendation Report for Promotional Resources

This assignment was our biggest project in this class. It took a couple of months to plan and work on. Since it was a group project that made it a bit easier, but it was still a challenge.

The goal of the “Feasibility/Recommendation Report” was to define, research, write, edit, and deliver a feasibility or recommendation report to a real-world client. The assignment was composed of five general steps which were; select a client, clear our client idea and general report idea with Dr. Art Fricke, Define our specific report goals, research, write and edit the report, and finally deliver the report to our chosen client.

When selecting a client there were certain criteria that needed to be followed. First, the client could not be a family member, a good friend, or an employer. Second, the client needed to have a problem or issue that they needed help with. Third, if we chose a nonprofit organization than it would be a better idea since they always have lots of problems and issues, and appreciate free help and advice. Finally, the client we chose had to agree to spend an average of 30 minutes a week of effort throughout our project to help us create a useful report. With that said, my group and I decided to choose the Lubbock Rape Crisis Center to be our real-world client. Once we picked a client Dr. Art Fricke had to okay it.

One of the most important things we had to focus on was defining specific report goals for our report. In doing this we had to work closely with our client so that they could share with us what problems or issues they needed help with.

Next, came preparing our document. Our first step was to research. My group and I had to plan and coordinate all of the research between group members so that we all equally had portions of the report to work on. Writing up the entire report came next, which took a long process, and finally we edited it. This is just a very quick and dense summary of the steps we took to do this assignment.

Finally, we had to deliver our final and edited “Feasibility/Recommendation Report” to our client so that they could see how hard we had worked and proposed a solution to their problems/issues.
