Shipping Increase Letter
This was our first group project, and while it was not a major assignment, it was still a challenge for my group and me. We were put into groups of four by Dr. Art Fricke to plan a successful persuasive business letter report.
The business letter report was based on an assignment description from our textbook which was a hypothetical situation, as always. Our letter was to contain all of the information in the exercise description very organized and clearly.
Everyone in our group decided to name our place of business Eagle Office Supply. The persuasive business correspondence that we were writing was directed to our loyal customers concerning an increase in shipping rates. The main goal of our letter was to persuade our customers to not be upset by the unfortunate changes. We advised them of the two weeks notice change and offered other companies’ prices to guarantee that our company, Eagle Office Supply, was still the cheapest and best way to go. Finally, we created our own logo to put on the corner of our letter which was an encircled eagle.
When we finished, all of our group members edited the report very professionally with some help from Dr. Art Fricke. This assignment not only taught us how to write a professionally persuasive business letter report, but to also work with others. Since this was our first assigned group project I received the opportunity to experience my peer’s work ethics. This would help me contemplate, in the future, whether I would like to work with them again or work with new people.
